MOV : അനന്തരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ പന്തീരായിരം പേരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഇന്നു രാത്രി തന്നേ ദാവീദിനെ പിന്തുടരട്ടെ.
KJV : Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:
YLT : And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, `Let me choose, I pray thee, twelve thousand men, and I arise and pursue after David to-night,

MOV : ക്ഷീണിച്ചും അധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്ന അവനെ ഞാൻ ആക്രമിച്ചു ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കും; അപ്പോൾ അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും ഓടിപ്പോകും; ഞാൻ രാജാവിനെ മാത്രം വെട്ടിക്കളയും.
KJV : And I will come upon him while he [is] weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that [are] with him shall flee; and I will smite the king only:
YLT : and come upon him, and he weary and feeble-handed, and I have caused him to tremble, and all the people have fled who [are] with him, and I have smitten the king by himself,

ERVEN : I will catch him while he is tired and weak. I will frighten him, and all his people will run away. But I will kill only King David.

MOV : പിന്നെ ഞാൻ സകലജനത്തെയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടക്കിവരുത്തും; നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എല്ലാവരും മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ സകലജനവും സമാധാനത്തോടെ ഇരിക്കും.
KJV : And I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest [is] as if all returned: [so] all the people shall be in peace.
YLT : and I bring back all the people unto thee -- as the turning back of the whole [is] the man whom thou art seeking -- all the people are peace.
RV : and I will bring back all the people unto thee: the man whom thou seekest is as if all returned: {cf15i so} all the people shall be in peace.
RSV : and I will bring all the people back to you as a bride comes home to her husband. You seek the life of only one man, and all the people will be at peace."

MOV : ഈ വാക്കു അബ്ശാലോമിന്നും യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാർക്കൊക്കെയും വളരെ ബോധിച്ചു.
KJV : And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.
YLT : And the thing is right in the eyes of Absalom, and in the eyes of all the elders of Israel.

KJV : Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he saith.
YLT : And Absalom saith, `Call, I pray thee, also for Hushai the Archite, and we hear what [is] in his mouth -- even he.`

MOV : ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം അവനോടു: ഇന്നിന്നപ്രാകരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ നാം ചെയ്കയോ? അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നീ പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spake unto him, saying, Ahithophel hath spoken after this manner: shall we do [after] his saying? if not; speak thou.
YLT : And Hushai cometh in unto Absalom, and Absalom speaketh unto him, saying, `According to this word hath Ahithophel spoken; do we do his word? if not, thou -- speak thou.`

ESV : And when Hushai came to Absalom, Absalom said to him, "Thus has Ahithophel spoken; shall we do as he says? If not, you speak."
ERVEN : Hushai came to Absalom. Absalom said to Hushai, "This is the plan Ahithophel gave. Should we follow it? If not, tell us."

MOV : ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: അഹീഥോഫെൽ ഈ പ്രാവശ്യം പറഞ്ഞ ആലോചന നന്നല്ല.
KJV : And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given [is] not good at this time.
YLT : And Hushai saith unto Absalom, `Not good [is] the counsel that Ahithophel hath counselled at this time.`
RV : And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel hath given this time is not good.
RSV : Then Hushai said to Absalom, "This time the counsel which Ahithophel has given is not good."

ERVEN : Hushai said to Absalom, "Ahithophel's advice is not good this time."

MOV : നിന്റെ അപ്പനും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും വീരന്മാരും കാട്ടിൽ കുട്ടികൾ കവർന്നുപോയ കരടിയെപ്പോലെ ഉഗ്രമാനസന്മാരും ആകുന്നു എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ. നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ യോദ്ധാവാകുന്നു. അവൻ ജനത്തോടുകൂടെ രാപാർക്കയില്ല.
KJV : For, said Hushai, thou knowest thy father and his men, that they [be] mighty men, and they [be] chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father [is] a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.
YLT : And Hushai saith, `Thou hast known thy father and his men, that they [are] heroes, and they are bitter in soul as a bereaved bear in a field, and thy father [is] a man of war, and doth not lodge with the people;
RV : Hushai said moreover, Thou knowest thy father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.
RSV : Hushai said moreover, "You know that your father and his men are mighty men, and that they are enraged, like a bear robbed of her cubs in the field. Besides, your father is expert in war; he will not spend the night with the people.
ASV : Hushai said moreover, Thou knowest thy father and his men, that they are mighty men, and they are chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field; and thy father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.
ESV : Hushai said, "You know that your father and his men are mighty men, and that they are enraged, like a bear robbed of her cubs in the field. Besides, your father is expert in war; he will not spend the night with the people.
ERVEN : Hushai added, "You know that your father and his men are strong men. They are as dangerous as a wild bear when something has taken its cubs. Your father is a skilled fighter. He will not stay all night with the people.

MOV : അവൻ ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു ഗുഹയിലോ മറ്റു വല്ല സ്ഥലത്തോ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കയായിരിക്കും; ആരംഭത്തിങ്കൽ തന്നേ ഇവരിൽ ചിലർ പട്ടുപോയാൽ അതു കേൾക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരും അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ പക്ഷക്കാരിൽ സംഹാരമുണ്ടായി എന്നു പറയും.
KJV : Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some [other] place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.
YLT : lo, now, he is hidden in one of the pits, or in one of the places, and it hath been, at the falling among them at the commencement, that the hearer hath heard, and said, There hath been a slaughter among the people who [are] after Absalom;
RV : Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some {cf15i other} place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be fallen at the first, that whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.
RSV : Behold, even now he has hidden himself in one of the pits, or in some other place. And when some of the people fall at the first attack, whoever hears it will say, `There has been a slaughter among the people who follow Absalom.'
ASV : Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them are fallen at the first, that whosoever heareth it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.
ESV : Behold, even now he has hidden himself in one of the pits or in some other place. And as soon as some of the people fall at the first attack, whoever hears it will say, 'There has been a slaughter among the people who follow Absalom.'
ERVEN : He is probably already hiding in a cave or some other place. If your father attacks your men first, people will hear the news and think, 'Absalom's followers are losing!'

MOV : അപ്പോൾ സീംഹഹൃദയംപോലെ ഹൃദയമുള്ള ശൂരനും കൂടെ അശേഷം ഉരുകിപ്പോകും; നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ വീരനും അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവർ ശൂരന്മാരും എന്നു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും അറിയുന്നു.
KJV : And he also [that is] valiant, whose heart [is] as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knoweth that thy father [is] a mighty man, and [they] which [be] with him [are] valiant men.
YLT : and he also, the son of valour, whose heart [is] as the heart of the lion, doth utterly melt, for all Israel doth know that thy father is a hero, and sons of valour [are] those with him.
RV : And even he that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.
RSV : Then even the valiant man, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will utterly melt with fear; for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and that those who are with him are valiant men.
ASV : And even he that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, will utterly melt; for all Israel knoweth that thy father is a mighty man, and they that are with him are valiant men.
ESV : Then even the valiant man, whose heart is like the heart of a lion, will utterly melt with fear, for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and that those who are with him are valiant men.
ERVEN : Then even your bravest men will be frightened, because all the Israelites know that your father is a powerful soldier and that his men are very brave.

MOV : ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ പറയുന്ന ആലോചന എന്തെന്നാൽ: ദാൻമുതൽ ബേർ-ശേബവരെ കടൽക്കരയിലെ മണൽപോലെ അസംഖ്യമായിരിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടുകയും തിരുമേനി തന്നേ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു എഴുന്നെള്ളുകയും വേണം.
KJV : Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto thee, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, as the sand that [is] by the sea for multitude; and that thou go to battle in thine own person.
YLT : `So that I have counselled: Let all Israel be diligently gathered unto thee, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, as the sand that [is] by the sea for multitude, and thou thyself art going in the midst;
RV : But I counsel that all Israel be gathered together unto thee, from Dan even to Beer-sheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that thou go to battle in thine own person.
RSV : But my counsel is that all Israel be gathered to you, from Dan to Beersheba, as the sand by the sea for multitude, and that you go to battle in person.

ERVEN : "This is what I suggest: You must gather all the Israelites together from Dan to Beersheba. Then there will be many people, like the sand by the sea. Then you yourself must go into the battle.

MOV : അവനെ കാണുന്നേടത്തു നാം അവനെ ആക്രമിച്ചു മഞ്ഞു ഭൂമിയിൽ പൊഴിയുന്നതുപോലെ അവന്റെമേൽ ചെന്നു വീഴും; പിന്നെ അവനാകട്ടെ അവനോടു കൂടെയുള്ള എല്ലാവരിലും ഒരുത്തൻ പോലും ആകട്ടെ ശേഷിക്കയില്ല.
KJV : So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falleth on the ground: and of him and of all the men that [are] with him there shall not be left so much as one.
YLT : and we have come in unto him in one of the places where he is found, and we [are] upon him as the dew falleth on the ground, and there hath not been left of him and of all the men who [are] with him even one.

ERVEN : We will catch David wherever he is hiding and attack him with so many soldiers that they will be like the dew that covers the ground. We will kill David and all of his men—no one will be left alive.

MOV : അവൻ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ കടന്നുകൂടി എങ്കിലോ യിസ്രായേലെല്ലാം ആ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു കയറുകെട്ടി അവിടെ ഒരു ചെറിയ കല്ലുപോലും കാണാതാകുംവരെ അതിനെ നദിയിൽ വലിച്ചിട്ടുകളയും.
KJV : Moreover, if he be gotten into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.
YLT : And if unto a city he is gathered, then they have caused all Israel to bear unto that city ropes, and we have drawn it unto the brook till that there hath not been found there even a stone.`
RV : Moreover, if he be gotten into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.
RSV : If he withdraws into a city, then all Israel will bring ropes to that city, and we shall drag it into the valley, until not even a pebble is to be found there."

MOV : അപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോമും എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേല്യരും: അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ ആലോചനയെക്കാൾ അർഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായിയുടെ ആലോചന നല്ലതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു അനർത്ഥം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ നല്ല ആലോചനയെ വ്യർത്ഥമാക്കുവാൻ യഹോവ നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്നു.
KJV : And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite [is] better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.
YLT : And Absalom saith -- and all the men of Israel -- `Better [is] the counsel of Hushai the Archite than the counsel of Ahithophel;` and Jehovah willed to make void the good counsel of Ahithophel for the sake of Jehovah`s bringing unto Absalom the evil.
RV : And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.
RSV : And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, "The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel." For the LORD had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, so that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.
ASV : And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For Jehovah had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that Jehovah might bring evil upon Absalom.
ESV : And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, "The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel." For the LORD had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, so that the LORD might bring harm upon Absalom.
ERVEN : Absalom and all the Israelites said, "Hushai's advice is better than Ahithophel's." Actually, Ahithophel's advice was good, but they said this because the Lord had decided to make Ahithophel's advice useless. He did this to punish Absalom.

MOV : അനന്തരം ഹൂശായി പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ സാദോക്കിനോടും അബ്യാഥാരിനോടു: ഇന്നിന്നപ്രാകരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ അബ്ശാലോമിനോടും യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരോടും ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞു; ഇന്നിന്നപ്രകാരം ഞാനും ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
KJV : Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled.
YLT : And Hushai saith unto Zadok and unto Abiathar the priests, `Thus and thus hath Ahithophel counselled Absalom and the elders of Israel, and thus and thus I have counselled;
RV : Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests. Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled.
RSV : Then Hushai said to Zadok and Abiathar the priests, "Thus and so did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and so have I counseled.
ASV : Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled.
ESV : Then Hushai said to Zadok and Abiathar the priests, "Thus and so did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel, and thus and so have I counseled.
ERVEN : Hushai told the priests, Zadok and Abiathar, what was said. He told them what Ahithophel suggested to Absalom and the leaders of Israel. Hushai also told them what he himself had suggested. He said,

MOV : ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ വേഗത്തിൽ ആളയച്ചു: ഈ രാത്രി മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള കടവിങ്കൽ പാർക്കരുതു; രാജാവിന്നും കൂടെയുള്ള സകലജനത്തിന്നും നാശം വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഏതു വിധേനയും അക്കരെ കടന്നുപോകേണം എന്നു ദാവീദിനെ അറിയിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that [are] with him.
YLT : and now, send hastily, and declare to David, saying, Lodge not to-night in the plains of the wilderness, and also, certainly pass over, lest there be a swallowing up of the king and of all the people who are with him.`
RV : Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night at the fords of the wilderness, but in any wise pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.
RSV : Now therefore send quickly and tell David, `Do not lodge tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over; lest the king and all the people who are with him be swallowed up.'"
ASV : Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.
ESV : Now therefore send quickly and tell David, 'Do not stay tonight at the fords of the wilderness, but by all means pass over, lest the king and all the people who are with him be swallowed up.'"
ERVEN : "Send a message to David now! Tell him not to spend the night at the places where people cross into the desert. Tell him to go across the Jordan River at once. If he crosses the river, the king and all his people will not be caught."

MOV : എന്നാൽ യോനാഥാനും അഹീമാസും പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ കാണിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഏൻ-രോഗെലിന്നരികെ കാത്തുനില്ക്കും; ഒരു വേലക്കാരത്തി ചെന്നു അവരെ അറിയിക്കയും അവർ ചെന്നു ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിനെ അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യും;
KJV : Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by En-rogel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a wench went and told them; and they went and told king David.
YLT : And Jonathan and Ahimaaz are standing at En-Rogel, and the maid-servant hath gone and declared to them -- and they go and have declared [it] to king David -- for they are not able to be seen to go in to the city.
RV : Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by En-rogel; and a maidservant used to go and tell them; and they went and told king David: for they might not be seen to come into the city.
RSV : Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz were waiting at Enrogel; a maidservant used to go and tell them, and they would go and tell King David; for they must not be seen entering the city.
ASV : Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz were staying by En-rogel; and a maid-servant used to go and tell them; and they went and told king David: for they might not be seen to come into the city.
ESV : Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz were waiting at En-rogel. A female servant was to go and tell them, and they were to go and tell King David, for they were not to be seen entering the city.
ERVEN : The priests' sons, Jonathan and Ahimaaz, did not want to be seen going into the town, so they waited at En Rogel. A servant girl went out to them and gave them the message. Then Jonathan and Ahimaaz carried the message to King David.
